Two Brawlin’ Dolls making their home debut.

Seventy-one points scored by No. 88 Mad-eye Molly.

10 different jammers utilized by the Dolls.

It all added up to a huge 276-48 victory for the Black and Pink over A-Town Roller Derby Sept. 13 at the Brawl House in Lafayette.

Just one week after a tough loss to Dupage Derby Dames’ Uproar squad, the Dolls’ had short memories and took it to the visiting team from Anderson early.

After a few tight, defensive jams, Mad-eye tore through A-Town like a tornado in spandex for 29 points. It set the tone for the rest of the bout as coaches Arctic Wolfsbane and Get Shorty rode Mad-eye and a wide array of other jammers to victory.

Coquette Threat was second on the team with 36 while bout co-MVP Psycho Socializer put the final nail in the A-Town coffin with a 20-point jam of her own early in the second half.

But it wasn’t just offense that thrilled the hundreds of LBD fans in attendance. Blocker MVP The Liberator dished out much punishment on opposing jammers while helping free her jammer. Lib teamed up with Coque on one particular bruising hit on A-Town’s top jammer, Dirty South.

Two rookies, Gina Ina Throttle and Miley’s Vyrus, had strong showings. Gina scored 16 and 4 in the first jams of her career while Virus hung tough in the pack.

The injury bug was squashed by the toughness of two Dolls: Rampage dislocated some fingers less than two weeks before this bout but the bum paw didn’t slow her down as she skated to the tune of 29 points on the night. Bang A. Rang had her best bout since her 2013 foot injury, which shelved the veteran for several bouts.

Also skating and performing well were Bubblegun, Biscuits ‘N Crazy and team captain Dreaded Thunder.

Shortly before the bout, blocker and defense specialist Arwen Leavin’ Scars announced her departure from the team due to an upcoming move to Nashville, Tenn. The news was the only disappointment of the night as the tall skater was a steady force on the track. But Arwen went out a winner. In fact, she was a part of one of the most lopsided victories in LBD history.
